I am an Austrian citizen, born in Bad Aussee (Styria)
in 1954.
Technical things were fascinating me from my early days. I have started
my engineering career with Railways and
Amateur Radio. Starting there I moved towards
electronics, radios and computers. After obtaining my first university degree
in electrotechnical engineering (MSEE) at Graz
University of Technology, Institute
for Electromagnetic Energy Conversion I joined the Institute
for High Energy Physics of the Austrian
Academy of Science. My job brought me to CERN
in Geneva, a place I still like a lot (and where this homepage is located).
Engineering work in science gave me the chance for an interdisciplinary
doctorate at the Vienna University of
Technology. Recently I joined CERN's safety division "TIS" in oder
to assume responsibility for the Electrical Safety in this laboratory.
I have five children.
Some pictures and remarks about the history of
the Szoncso family.
